Real Madrid manager, Álvaro Arbeloa, has expressed openness to the possibility of José Mourinho returning to the Santiago Bernabéu, giving his approval amid growing speculation over a potential managerial change at the club.
Arbeloa, who took charge in January 2026 after the departure of Xabi Alonso, has endured a difficult spell marked by a lack of silverware, with reports suggesting his position is under review and a return to academy duties is being considered.
According to reports, club president Florentino Pérez views Mourinho as the leading candidate to restore stability and competitive edge at the Bernabéu.
Addressing the ongoing speculation, Arbeloa made his stance clear in comments to reporters, speaking warmly about the former Real Madrid boss.
“For me, as a former (Madrid) player and as a Madridista, Jose Mourinho is number one. He’s one of ours,” Arbeloa told reporters.
“If he comes back next year, I’ll be very happy to see him back home.”
