Inter beat Parma, win 21st Serie A title

Inter Milan sealed the Serie A title on Sunday with a 2-0 victory over Parma at the San Siro, confirming their status as champions after a season in which they had long been the team to catch.

Cristian Chivu’s side only needed a draw to secure the Scudetto, but made sure of the celebration with a composed win that crowned them Italian champions for the 21st time in their history.

The triumph marks Inter’s second Serie A title in the last three seasons. They had finished runners-up to Napoli last campaign, but had lifted the league the season before, ending an 11-year wait for the crown at that time.

This latest success further strengthens their position in Italy’s all-time title standings, where they remain second behind Juventus, who have 36 league championships.

Chivu, who made 168 appearances for Inter between 2007 and 2014 during his playing career, only took charge in June 2025 after arriving from Parma.

The title is his first major honour in senior management and comes in his debut season at the helm.

He succeeded Simone Inzaghi, who had overseen a four-year spell in charge of the club before departing.

Inter’s domestic success comes despite a disappointing European campaign, which saw them exit the Champions League playoff round against Bodo/Glimt in February.

There is still the possibility of a domestic double for the Nerazzurri, with a Coppa Italia final against Lazio scheduled for May 13.
