Serie A: Odgaard fires Bologna to 1-0 win over Pisa

Bologna FC 1909 kept their European ambitions alive in dramatic fashion, snatching a stoppage-time 1-0 win over struggling SC Pisa in Serie A.

The contest was slow to ignite, with just a single attempt recorded midway through the first half.

The tempo shifted in the 24th minute when Santiago Castro shrugged off his marker and raced through on goal, only to blaze his effort over the crossbar with the net at his mercy.

That chance appeared to spark the visitors into life. Ten minutes before the interval, Castro again threatened after meeting a precise through pass from Nikola Moro, but his strike from inside the area crashed against the woodwork, sparing the hosts.

Pisa’s blunt attack before the break was in keeping with their recent struggles, having managed only four goals across their previous 13 home league outings.

The second half resumed in scrappy fashion, short on clear openings. Just past the hour mark, Stefano Moreo finally tested Bologna’s resolve, but his close-range header was expertly denied by goalkeeper Łukasz Skorupski.

As the hosts pushed with greater urgency, Skorupski was called into action again, producing a superb save to divert Gabriele Piccinini’s effort around the post.

Yet heartbreak awaited Pisa’s supporters. With the match seemingly drifting toward a stalemate, Jens Odgaard unleashed a stunning 25-yard strike into the top corner in the 90th minute, sealing all three points for the Rossoblù.

The result leaves Pisa’s survival hopes hanging by a thread, with just one league win and 11 matches remaining, while Bologna’s fifth straight victory in all competitions lifts them to eighth place and strengthens their push for European qualification.
