Super Eagles forward, Umar Sadiq, continued his impressive run of form on Saturday, finding the net again as Valencia secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Girona at the Mestalla.
After a goalless first half, Valencia broke the deadlock five minutes into the restart when Largie Ramazani finished off a well-worked move.
Sadiq then doubled the advantage shortly after, rising highest to meet a left-wing cross and power in a header, marking his second consecutive La Liga goal following his equaliser in the 1-1 draw against Mallorca earlier in the week.
Girona responded through Joel Roca in the 63rd minute to set up a tense finish, but Valencia managed the closing stages effectively to secure all three points.
The result ends a three-game winless run for the hosts and provides a timely boost in their fight for safety, with Sadiq’s growing influence proving crucial to their survival push in La Liga.
