Trump attended UFC fight while US, Iran held talks

While trilateral in-person talks between the United States and Iran have reportedly stretched for more than 12 hours in Pakistan, President Donald Trump was attending a UFC fight in Miami at the same time, drawing attention to the contrast between diplomatic efforts and his public engagement.

The ongoing discussions in Pakistan have been described as extended and intensive, with both sides remaining at the table for hours as they attempt to narrow differences in the negotiations.

In a separate setting far from the talks, Trump was seen inside the Miami arena taking in a UFC event, appearing relaxed as he followed the action alongside members of his team.

According to reporters traveling with Trump and video from the event, Secretary of State Marco Rubio was later seen leaning in close to the president and whispering to him from nearby seats during the fight.

The two were observed exchanging a few words, after which Trump turned toward the crowd seated behind him, pumped his fist, and smiled in response to the moment.

Trump had earlier spoken briefly to reporters before departing for Miami, where he was asked about the status of the negotiations in Pakistan.

Responding to the question, he said it “makes no difference to me” whether a deal is reached between the US and Iran.
