Serie A: Nigeria’s Durosinmi rescues point for Pisa against Atalanta

Pisa snatched a dramatic late equaliser to earn a 1-1 draw against Atalanta, denying the visitors victory after Nikola Krstović’s late strike.

The home side made an energetic start and dominated large stretches of the opening half, applying sustained pressure and forcing Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi into action early on.

Pisa’s positive approach paid dividends in territory and set-pieces, with Henrik Meister and Idrissa Touré both testing the defence as Atalanta struggled to find rhythm outside short spells on the ball.

The pattern shifted after the interval as Atalanta began to assert more control, dictating the pace and enjoying longer periods of possession.

Rafaele Palladino’s changes from the bench injected fresh momentum, and the breakthrough eventually came in the 83rd minute.

Krstović pounced on a loose ball inside the area and smashed an unstoppable effort into the top of the net. A brief VAR review delayed celebrations, but the goal stood.

Pisa refused to fold and hit back almost immediately. In the 87th minute, Rafiu Durosinmi climbed highest to meet a delivery from the right, steering a powerful header inside the far corner to level the scores beyond Carnesecchi’s reach.

Both sides pushed for a late winner in a frenetic finale, but the deadlock remained unbroken. Ultimately, the draw rewarded Pisa’s resilience while reflecting Atalanta’s growing influence after the break.
