Barcelona humble Athletic Bilbao 5-0 to reach Super Cup final

Barcelona cruised into the Supercopa de España final with a commanding 5-0 triumph over Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday.

The La Liga leaders, guided by Hansi Flick, showcased their firepower in Jeddah, despite starting teenage sensation Lamine Yamal on the bench.

The first real chance came in the 15th minute when Pedri’s low strike forced a save from Unai Simón.

Minutes later, Fermin López had an opportunity to break the deadlock but saw his tame shot comfortably dealt with by Spain’s No. 1.

The breakthrough came in the 22nd minute as Ferran Torres capitalized on a deflected effort from Fermin to slot past Simón.

Fermin quickly followed up with a precise finish to double the lead, and Roony Bardghji made it three with ten minutes remaining in the first half.

Raphinha then joined the scoring party, sending Barcelona into halftime with a commanding 4-0 advantage.

After the break, Raphinha struck again to seal his brace and complete the 5-0 rout, sending Barcelona through to Sunday’s final with authority.
