No fewer than 20,000 applicants on Sunday sat for the Nigerian Air Force, Zonal General Aptitude Test as part of the 2025 Basic Military Training Course 46 recruitment exercise.
The aptitude test was conducted simultaneously at 15 centres nationwide, including Sokoto, Minna, Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, Maiduguri, Yola, Makurdi, Jos, Ilorin, Ipetu-Ijesa, Enugu, Benin, Port Harcourt and Ikeja.
In a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Air Force said the spread of the test centres was deliberately designed to promote fairness, inclusiveness and equal access for qualified applicants across the country.
“The Nigerian Air Force has commenced the Zonal General Aptitude Test for the Year 2025 Basic Military Training Course 46 recruitment exercise, with over 20,000 applicants participating nationwide,” Ejodame stated.
He explained that the recruitment process was anchored on transparency and merit, noting that the aptitude test represents a key phase in identifying suitable candidates for military training.
Speaking on the exercise, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, reaffirmed the Air Force’s commitment to integrity and professionalism in its recruitment process.
“The aptitude test is a critical stage in selecting candidates strictly on merit. The quality of personnel we recruit is central to our operational effectiveness and our ability to successfully discharge our constitutional responsibilities,” Aneke said.
He added that the NAF would continue to uphold high standards in manpower selection to ensure efficiency and professionalism within the service.
The development comes amid broader efforts by the Federal Government to strengthen security agencies, following recent plans by the Police Service Commission and the Nigeria Police Force to recruit additional personnel nationwide to boost manpower.
