The Accord Party has cleared Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, to contest its governorship primary election ahead of the 2026 polls.
The clearance was confirmed on Wednesday in Osogbo by the chairman of the party’s screening committee and National Organising Secretary, Ibe Thankgod.
According to Thankgod, Adeleke fulfilled all the requirements for nomination and was therefore approved to participate in the primary as the party’s sole aspirant.
“Governor Ademola Adeleke met all the conditions set out by the party for the governorship race and has been duly cleared as a worthy aspirant,” he said.
He added that a certificate of clearance was formally presented to the governor by the screening committee.
Reacting, Adeleke expressed appreciation to the party leadership and screening committee, pledging his readiness for both the primary and the general election.
“I am ready for the primary, and I am ready for the general elections. We are winning by God’s grace,” the governor said.
Adeleke officially joined the Accord Party on Tuesday night after resigning his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party on December 2.
The Accord Party is currently conducting its governorship primary in Osogbo, with party leaders expressing confidence in the governor’s candidacy ahead of the 2026 election.
