The All Progressives Congress has announced a change in the dates for its forthcoming National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings.
In a statement titled “Change of Meeting Dates”, issued on Sunday by the party’s National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Basiru, the APC said the meetings earlier slated for December 15 and 16, 2025, have been moved to December 18 and 19, 2025.
According to the notice, the National Caucus meeting will now take place on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., while the NEC meeting is scheduled for Friday, December 19, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. Both meetings will be held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
“All members are hereby invited to take notice of this meeting in line with relevant provisions of the APC Constitution,” Basiru said in the document shared via his official X handle.
The statement explained that the meetings are convened in accordance with Articles 12.3 and 13.3 of the APC Constitution, which outline the composition and functions of the National Caucus and NEC.
The APC National Caucus consists of top party leaders, including the President and Vice President of Nigeria, current and former APC-affiliated presidents and vice presidents, serving and past governors, as well as zonal representatives.
Meanwhile, the NEC—regarded as the party’s highest decision-making body—includes principal national officers such as the National Chairman, Deputy National Chairmen (North and South), National Secretary and Deputy, National Treasurer and Deputy, National Legal Adviser and Deputy, as well as other key officials.
Also listed as NEC members are the National Organising Secretary, National Financial Secretary, National Publicity Secretary, National Women and Youth Leaders, their deputies, state party chairmen, zonal representatives, and elected members of the National Convention.
The rescheduling comes shortly after the party initially announced the December 15–16 dates, which were expected to be the APC’s first major national meetings in over a year. No reason was given for the adjustment.
“All members are by this invitation to take notice of the meeting in accordance with Article 11.5 of the Constitution,” the notice added.
