Barcelona has confirmed that midfielder Dani Olmo will be sidelined for approximately a month after dislocating his shoulder.
“Olmo suffered a dislocation in his left shoulder during yesterday’s match against Atletico Madrid,” the club said in a statement on Wednesday.
“Following the tests carried out, a conservative treatment has been chosen. The approximate recovery time is one month.”
The 27-year-old Spain international sustained the injury after falling while scoring in Barcelona’s 3-1 La Liga victory over Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, a result that extended Barca’s lead at the top of the table to four points.
Since joining Barcelona from RB Leipzig in 2024, Olmo has struggled with several injury issues.
He will now join teammates Fermin Lopez, Gavi, and Marc-Andre ter Stegen on the sidelines, just ahead of a crucial Champions League clash with Eintracht Frankfurt next week.
