Fulham head coach, Marco Silva, has singled out Samuel Chukwueze for praise following the Nigeria international’s influential cameo in their 1-0 victory over Sunderland.
Chukwueze came off the bench in the 64th minute and quickly made his presence felt, providing the assist for Raul Jimenez’s decisive goal.
The 26-year-old displayed exceptional attacking quality, creating two key chances, completing all his dribbles, and winning every duel against a resilient Sunderland side.
Reflecting on the performance, Silva applauded Chukwueze’s contribution. “We deserved the three points. We scored late, but we should have converted earlier opportunities,” Silva told reporters.
He added, “It was important to get back on track for our fans. We created several clear chances in the first half, and limited them to only Traore. Possession was well managed, and overall performance was solid. ESR and Chukwueze made a massive impact.
“We will need Samuel from the start, although we will miss him during AFCON. It was a clean sheet and a strong performance overall.”
