NAF to close Lagos airport road for Saturday fitness exercise

The Nigerian Air Force Headquarters Logistics Command has announced that parts of Murtala Muhammed Airport Road in Lagos will be temporarily closed on Saturday, October 18, 2025, to facilitate its routine 10-kilometre Walk/Jog Exercise.

In a statement signed by Squadron Leader Abigail Ologun, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, the exercise is set to begin at 6 a.m. and conclude by 8 a.m.

The initiative forms part of the NAF’s ongoing efforts to encourage physical fitness, promote health, and maintain operational readiness among its personnel.

Motorists and residents in the Murtala Muhammed Airport area are urged to take alternative routes during the two-hour exercise, as movement will be restricted from Murtala Muhammed Airport 2 to Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

“The Command has made adequate arrangements to ensure the exercise is smooth, safe, and hitch-free. NAF and other security personnel will be on ground to guide traffic and ensure public safety,” the statement added.

While expressing regret for any inconvenience the temporary closure may cause, the Air Force appealed to the public for understanding and cooperation, assuring that normal traffic would resume immediately after the exercise.
