The Super Eagles of Nigeria have commenced preparations for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against the Crocodiles of Lesotho, with the team opening camp in Polokwane, South Africa.
The head coach, Eric Chelle and his technical crew, alongside other backroom staff, arrived in Polokwane on Monday and have settled in at the luxurious Ranch Hotel.
Players invited for the tie are expected to begin reporting to camp today, with some already in Johannesburg set to connect a local flight to Polokwane, team media officer Promise Efoghe confirmed.
The Super Eagles are scheduled to hold their first official training session on Tuesday as preparations intensify for Friday’s showdown against Lesotho at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, with kickoff set for 5 p.m. Nigeria time.
After the encounter, Nigeria will return home to face the Squirrels of Benin Republic in their final qualifying match at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo next Tuesday.
