Drama as Lagos names Mandy Kiss as anti-drug abuse ambassador

The Lagos State Government has appointed social media personality, Ayomiposi Oluwadahunsi, popularly known as Mandy Kiss, as a brand ambassador for its campaign against drug and substance abuse.

The conferment was made on Tuesday by the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mobolaji Ogunlende, during an event organised by the Lagos State Kick Against Drug and Substance Abuse.

In a video shared online by X user @dammiedammie35, Ogunlende said the state was seeking new ways to combat drug misuse, which he described as a “pandemic ravaging the streets and communities.”

“We’re here with Mandy Kiss, and she has agreed to become one of our LASKADA brand ambassadors. Drugs are a pandemic that is hitting our streets, our society, and our communities. The government cannot fight it alone,” he said.

The Commissioner noted that Mandy Kiss’s large following—over 400,000 on social media—was a major factor in the decision.

“We must work in collaboration with those that can reach as many people as possible, and we know Mandy Kiss has a large followership. With the powers conferred on me, I make her one of our brand ambassadors. So, say no to drugs. Say what? Say no to drugs,” he added.

The development comes weeks after Mandy Kiss stirred controversy when she announced plans to attempt a Guinness World Record by engaging in a marathon sex act with 100 men in a single day.

Although she later said it was a joke, the declaration attracted public backlash, with some calling on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to sanction her.

Ogunlende, however, expressed optimism that her involvement in the anti-drug campaign could positively impact young people.

“Everybody has a past, nobody’s perfect. But as a brand ambassador to LASKADA, we hope Mandy Kiss will be able to take this message to the nooks and crannies of Lagos to help us fight this pandemic,” he said.
