The Nigerian Railway Corporation has announced that the online ticketing platform for the Abuja–Kaduna Train Service is now active ahead of the resumption of operations on Wednesday, October 1.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Lagos, the NRC’s Chief Public Relations Officer, Callistus Unyimadu, said passengers can now purchase tickets via the official booking portal, https://nrc.tps.ng, or at designated train stations.
“We are pleased to inform our esteemed passengers that the ticketing platform is open, and we encourage everyone to make their bookings online ahead of the resumption of services,” Unyimadu said.
He explained that the service would run on a revised schedule, with adjustments made to journey time following a review of the Temporary Speed Restriction.
The new timetable is as follows, Abuja to Kaduna: Departure from Idu at 8:45 a.m., stop at Kubwa by 9:10 a.m., and arrival at Rigasa, Kaduna, by 11:47 a.m.
Kaduna to Abuja: Departure from Rigasa at 2:30 p.m., stop at Kubwa by 5:12 p.m., and arrival at Idu, Abuja, by 5:32 p.m.
Unyimadu also expressed appreciation to passengers for their patience during the suspension of service.
“We remain committed to ensuring safety, comfort, and customer satisfaction. The management of NRC deeply appreciates the patience and understanding of our valued passengers during this period,” he added.
The Abuja–Kaduna train service was suspended after a derailment on August 26, which caused panic among commuters and left several carriages overturned.
According to NRC, comprehensive safety, technical, and operational checks have now been concluded, paving the way for safe resumption.
“The safety of our passengers remains paramount, and we have taken all necessary measures to restore confidence in our operations,” the PRO assured.
