Real Madrid eye Chelsea stars Fernandez, Caicedo

Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on Chelsea’s high-profile midfield duo, Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

The Spanish giants had both players on their radar long before their record-breaking switches to Stamford Bridge in 2023, Fernandez joining from Benfica for £100m, then later that year Caicedo arriving from Brighton for £107m.

Since their arrivals, the South American pair have flourished in West London, forming a strong partnership that helped Chelsea clinch the FIFA Club World Cup this summer.

According to TBR Football, Real Madrid are actively monitoring the pair as part of a wider assessment of their midfield reinforcements.

Chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, revealed that the club is also tracking other top talents, including PSG’s Joao Neves and Crystal Palace starlet Adam Wharton.

Bailey explained, “Real are doing their due diligence on potential midfield options. They are constantly doing work on potential targets.

“Under Juni Calafat they have transformed their recruitment and their ability to make the right moves. The midfield department is something they are looking at.

“They are not worried but are concerned about their depth, and I am told that Fernandez and Caicedo are two players they love and are watching them regularly.”
