The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has pegged the final Hajj fare for the 2026 pilgrimage at ₦8,244,813.67, in line with the directive of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Dederi, and made available to journalists in Kano.
Confirming the development, the Director-General of the board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, explained that the fare applies to all intending pilgrims from the state.
“Those who have already deposited ₦8.5 million will receive a refund of ₦255,186.33 upon submitting a written application to the board,” he said.
Dederi added that fresh applicants are expected to pay the full amount of ₦8,244,813.67 before the deadline of December 31, 2025, as directed by NAHCON.
He stressed that the deadline would not be extended, urging intending pilgrims to make their payments early to secure their slots.
“The board calls on all registered pilgrims to complete their payments before the cutoff date to avoid losing their seats,” Dederi noted.
NAHCON had earlier announced a reduction of ₦200,000 in the final 2026 Hajj fares. Kano State had registered over 3,100 pilgrims for the 2025 exercise, after which it closed sales of its seat allocation.
Every year, Nigerian pilgrims travel to Saudi Arabia for the spiritual exercise under NAHCON’s coordination, while state boards handle registration, logistics, and airlifting arrangements through approved carriers.
