INEC confirms David Mark as ADC interim leader

The Independent National Electoral Commission has officially recognised the leadership of former Senate President, David Mark, as the Interim National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress.

The confirmation, announced on Wednesday, follows weeks of internal restructuring within the party, which produced new principal officers aimed at strengthening the ADC ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Others whose positions were ratified include former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, as National Secretary; Dr. Ibrahim Mani as National Treasurer; Akibu Dalhatu as National Financial Secretary; and former Edo State Governor, Professor Oserheimen Osunbor, as National Legal Adviser.

Speaking after INEC’s decision, Mark described the recognition as “a call to service and unity.”

He said, “Our immediate task is to reconcile our members nationwide, rebuild confidence in the party, and position the ADC as a credible alternative for Nigerians.”

The new secretary, Aregbesola, also assured supporters that the ADC would embark on a robust mobilisation drive.

“We are committed to strengthening our structures across all states and engaging Nigerians on issues that truly matter,” he stated.
