Getafe coach confident Nigeria’s Uche will stay

Getafe boss, José Bordalás, has expressed confidence that Nigerian forward Christantus Uche will remain at the club despite transfer rumours surrounding his future.

The 22-year-old striker has been linked with a potential move away from the LaLiga side this summer, but he once again showcased his value to the Azulones in their 2-0 triumph over Celta Vigo on Sunday night, registering a goal and an assist.

His outstanding display also earned him the Man of the Match award.

Speaking after the game, Bordalás hailed Uche’s impact and reiterated the club’s faith in him.

“He’s our player. We have complete confidence in him and all his teammates, the team in general,” the coach told Marca.

“For Uche to shine, his teammates have had to put in a huge effort. It doesn’t surprise us because he already did it last season. Uche is a Getafe player and we have confidence that he’ll be with us.”
