Barcelona’s promising young midfielder, Pablo Torre, has officially made a permanent switch to Real Mallorca, with the La Liga club confirming his arrival in a formal statement.
The 21-year-old has penned a four-year deal that ties him to Mallorca until 2029, signaling the beginning of a new phase in his professional journey.
Torre is the first addition to Mallorca’s squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
The transfer had been on the cards for over a week, allowing Torre to forgo his medical at Barcelona with the club’s consent, as the agreement with Mallorca was already in place.
“FC Barcelona and RCD Mallorca have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Pablo Torre. The blaugranes retain a buy back option and percentage of any future sale of the midfielder. The Club wishes him all the best for the future on and off the field,” read Barcelona’s official statement.
While the finalisation of the deal took longer than expected due to various complexities, sources indicate Mallorca have agreed to pay €5 million for 50% of Torre’s rights. His contract reportedly includes a €25 million release clause.
Torre will now work under the guidance of new Mallorca manager Jagoba Arrasate, as he aims to continue his growth and establish himself as a key figure in the team’s rebuild.
His arrival was slightly postponed as he was granted extended time off following his involvement with Spain’s U-21 national team this summer.
During the 2024/25 season, Torre made 14 official appearances for Barcelona, registering four goals and three assists.
Widely regarded as one of Spain’s most exciting young midfielders, Torre’s move marks the beginning of Mallorca’s summer transfer activity, following the commencement of their preseason training on July 10 without any signings.
