Brighton & Hove Albion forward, Rinsola Babajide, is eagerly anticipating her first outing at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations as she aims to play a pivotal role in the Super Falcons’ push for continental glory at the 2024 edition in Morocco.

The 27-year-old winger, is set to make her debut appearance at Africa’s premier women’s football tournament.

Despite featuring sparingly during Nigeria’s campaign at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, Babajide is focused on leaving a greater impact this time around.

The Super Falcons, nine-time champions of the competition, are eyeing a historic 10th title at the upcoming tournament.

Babajide, determined to be part of that success story, expressed her excitement and commitment.

“It’s a very honourable feeling, I’m so privileged to be here. Whenever I’m able to put on the badge, I just feel honour and pride, so I’m excited to get started,” Babajide said in a video shared on the Super Falcons’ official X account.

“My personal goal is to make my debut and I wanna contribute as much as I can to the team’s winnings, goals, assists, and I really wanna win my first senior silverware.”

Nigeria, under the guidance of head coach Justine Madugu, has been placed in Group B alongside Tunisia, Botswana, and Algeria.

The West African powerhouse will open their campaign against Tunisia on Sunday, July 6, in Casablanca, before taking on Botswana and Algeria at the same venue on July 10 and 13 respectively.
