Trump considers US involvement in Iran-Israel crisis

United States President, Donald Trump, has revealed the United States might become involved in the ongoing hostilities between Iran and Israel, and expressed willingness for Russian President Vladimir Putin to play a mediating role.

Speaking with ABC News senior political correspondent Rachel Scott in an unpublicized off-camera interview on Sunday, Trump remarked, “It’s possible we could get involved” in the intensifying confrontation between the longtime Middle Eastern rivals.

However, he emphasized, “not at this moment” is the U.S. directly involved in any military operations.

According to ABC News, Trump also addressed the state of nuclear negotiations with Iran, indicating the Islamic Republic may be more eager to reach an agreement amid the escalating violence.

“They’d like to make a deal,” Trump stated. “They’re talking. They continue to talk.”

He added, “No, there’s no deadline” when asked whether a time limit had been set for negotiations with Tehran.

Trump suggested the current clashes might be accelerating efforts toward a nuclear deal.

“It may have forced a deal to go quicker, actually,” he said.

Regarding the potential involvement of the Russian president, Trump disclosed, “He is ready. He called me about it. We had a long talk about it.”

The exchange of strikes between Israel and Iran entered its third consecutive day on Sunday, with mounting casualties and widespread destruction.

Israel’s extensive airstrikes have reportedly targeted Iran’s nuclear and military facilities, prompting retaliatory action from Tehran.

Meanwhile, Oman, previously a mediator in Iran-U.S. nuclear talks, announced the cancellation of a planned sixth round of discussions this weekend.

Despite this, Trump maintained that diplomatic channels remain open.
