The Osun State Chapter of the Action Peoples Party has filed a contempt proceeding against the leadership of the All Progressives Congress and local government chairmen who were allegedly elected in 2022 but later removed by a court ruling.

The contempt suit, filed on March 11, 2025, before the Federal High Court in Osogbo, is marked FHC/OS/CS/103/2022.

This suit follows the original suit number in the originating summons that led to the judgment being enforced. In the legal action, the APP, which is the judgment creditor, contended that the respondents/contemnors had illegally taken over the Osun Council offices in defiance of a Federal High Court ruling.

According to the suit, the APC and other appellants involved in the case had appealed the decision unsuccessfully to the Court of Appeal.

Furthermore, the APP filed an ex-parte motion before the Federal High Court to have the contempt application served on the respondents/contemnors via substituted service.

At the time of reporting, no date had been set for the hearing of the contempt application.
