2027: APGA to relaunch nationwide e-membership drive March 1

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has announced that it will resume its continuous electronic membership registration across the country on March 1 as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Ejimofor Opara, disclosed this at a press briefing in Awka on Friday, stating that the exercise would be conducted simultaneously in all 8,809 electoral wards nationwide.

Opara described the initiative as a reflection of APGA’s commitment to transparency, inclusiveness, and technological innovation in party administration.

“In June 2024, APGA became the first political party in Nigeria to fully automate its membership registration process. This step was taken to enhance efficiency and encourage wider participation in our activities,” he said.

He explained that although the electronic registration had previously commenced, it would officially reopen on March 1 to allow more Nigerians to enroll.

According to him, “The registration is open to all interested and eligible Nigerians. Prospective members are expected to present a valid voter’s card and two recent passport photographs to complete the process.”

Opara added that registration could be completed online through the party’s official website, via a designated WhatsApp platform, or physically at ward registration centres where forms would be available.

“New members will receive a temporary membership slip after completing the process, pending the issuance of their permanent membership cards,” he stated.

The spokesman clarified that existing members who had already completed their electronic registration were not required to register again. However, he advised members who were yet to upload their passport photographs to update their records through the party’s online platforms.

Opara further revealed that APGA was approaching the one million membership mark and expressed optimism that the renewed drive would help the party double its membership strength.

“We are on the verge of reaching one million members. With this fresh push, our target is to increase that figure to two million. We encourage eligible Nigerians to take advantage of this opportunity to join APGA and contribute to national development,” he said.

He added, “Together, we can shape the future of our great nation.”
