The Zamfara Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps has announced the deployment of 517 personnel and 16 operational vehicles across the state to ensure a smooth and accident-free Eid-el-Kabir (Sallah) celebration.

This was disclosed in a statement issued to journalists in Gusau on Tuesday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Isah Aliyu.

According to the statement, the FRSC has identified strategic locations throughout the state for enhanced traffic management, while critical flash points have been designated for rescue services, clearing of obstructions, enforcement of traffic regulations, and general traffic control.

“The command also provided three ambulances on standby to ensure prompt rescue of victims of road crashes,” Aliyu stated.

In his message to the public, the Sector Commander, Aliyu Ma’aji, appealed to motorists and other road users to strictly adhere to traffic laws and safety guidelines throughout the festive period.

He specifically warned against high-risk driving behaviours that could result in road crashes.

He urged road users “to desist from anything that could cause road traffic crashes such as speeding, overloading, dangerous driving and use of phone while driving, among others.”

Ma’aji also extended his warm wishes to the residents of Zamfara State on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir.

He advised the motoring public “to drive with caution as the only living celebrate.”

The FRSC assured residents of its commitment to ensuring safe road travel during the festive season and encouraged the public to cooperate with deployed personnel for a hitch-free celebration.
