Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, has explained his decision to join Turkish Super Lig heavyweights Beşiktaş, sealing a permanent move from Leicester City on Friday.

The 28-year-old said the lure of representing one of the most respected clubs in world football, coupled with the chance to embrace a fresh challenge, convinced him to sign for the Black Eagles.

“Beşiktaş are one of the biggest teams in the country. I wanted to be here because I’m eager to experience a new environment, meet new people, and play in a new league,” Ndidi told Beşiktaş TV.

“When the offer came, I was impressed and immediately felt this was the right step for me.”

Chasing New Glory

During his time at Leicester City, Ndidi won the FA Cup and the Community Shield. Now, he is aiming to replicate and surpass, those achievements in Turkey.

“My biggest goal here is to win as many games as possible because victories lead to trophies and push us forward,” he said. “This is a fantastic opportunity to achieve more success with the team.”

A True Team Player

Known for his tireless work rate, Ndidi emphasised that his focus has always been on collective success rather than personal accolades.

“I’m a hard worker and a team player. I don’t play just for myself — when the team wins, every player shines. For me, that’s the most important thing,” he added.
