Former Super Eagles forward, Obinna Nsofor, has thrown his weight behind Tolu Arokodare and Cyriel Dessers to deliver the goals that could silence South Africa in Tuesday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Bloemfontein.
Bafana Bafana currently lead Group C with 16 points, while Nigeria sit in third place on 10 points after edging Rwanda 1-0 on Saturday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.
Previewing the much-anticipated encounter, Nsofor admitted that the absence of Napoli star, Victor Osimhen, is a major blow but expressed confidence that the attacking duo of Arokodare and Dessers can rise to the occasion.
“It’s unfortunate that Osimhen won’t be available for the Nigeria–South Africa clash because he’s our most influential player,” Nsofor told Footy-Africa. “
“In matches of this magnitude, his presence alone could unsettle any opposition.
“But I still have faith in the squad. Players like Tolu Arokodare and Cyriel Dessers have the quality to trouble South Africa’s defence and push the Super Eagles to victory.”
