Benin Republic midfielder, Jodel Dossou, has vowed that the Cheetahs will give their all to secure a favourable outcome against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
Gernot Rohr’s men are set to battle Nigeria in a crucial Group C matchday 10 fixture on Tuesday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
The Cheetahs currently lead the group standings with 17 points from nine games, ahead of South Africa, who have 15 points, while Nigeria trail closely behind on 14 points.
With qualification hopes resting in their own hands, Dossou acknowledged that the contest against their West African neighbours will be a tough one.
“We have our destiny in our own hands. It will be an electric match, Nigeria’s last chance. But we won’t let ourselves be pushed around either,” Dossou told Mega Sports.
“We’ll do everything we can to get a positive result and keep dreaming.”
