Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong and forward Ademola Lookman are among six players from the national men’s team who have jointly donated ₦24 million to the Super Falcons in appreciation of their outstanding performance at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The Super Falcons clinched their 10th WAFCON title, further cementing their dominance on the continent, with a thrilling 3-2 comeback win over hosts Morocco in Saturday night’s final at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat.

The Nigeria Football Federation made the donation public in an official statement released on Monday.

According to the NFF, the contributors include Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong, along with teammates, Ademola Lookman, Olaoluwa Aina, Alex Iwobi, Leon Balogun, and Joseph Ayodele-Aribo.

The victorious Falcons squad, alongside team officials, returned to Nigeria from Morocco on Monday afternoon and were warmly received by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Aso Rock.

In appreciation of their feat, Tinubu honoured each of the 24 players with the Officer of the Order of the Niger national award, a three-bedroom home, and a cash reward of $100,000.
