New Tottenham Hotspur manager, Thomas Frank, has hailed Heung-Min Son as one of the finest talents to ever grace the Premier League, following the South Korean star’s announcement of his departure from the club.

Son, speaking at a press conference in Seoul on Saturday, confirmed he would be leaving Spurs this summer, ending a decade-long stint with the North London side.

Reacting to the news, Frank expressed regret over not getting the opportunity to manage the 32-year-old forward.

“For me, personally, I would have loved to have worked with this fantastic person and player,” said the Danish tactician.

“He is a true Spurs legend in every aspect, one of the greatest players to play in the Premier League. It is never easy to find the perfect timing and me coming in from the side, it makes it a bit easier to end on a high.”

Son’s legacy at Tottenham is firmly cemented in the club’s history. Joining from Bayer Leverkusen in August 2015, he spent 10 years with the club, a period capped off by lifting the UEFA Europa League title in May, his first major trophy with Spurs and one he hoisted as captain.

He ranks fifth in the club’s all-time scoring chart with 173 goals and became only the seventh player to make over 450 appearances, ending his Spurs journey with 454 matches played.

Among his many accolades, Son won the prestigious FIFA Puskás Award in 2020 for his stunning solo goal against Burnley in 2019 and claimed the Premier League Golden Boot in the 2021/22 season with 23 goals, helping Spurs return to the UEFA Champions League.

As he prepares to move on from Tottenham, Son leaves behind not just remarkable stats, but a legacy of loyalty, brilliance, and unforgettable moments in North London.
