Zambian midfielder, Racheal Nachula has shared the reason behind the Copper Queens’ confidence ahead of their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final clash with the Super Falcons of Nigeria.

The two teams are set to face off on Friday in what promises to be a highly anticipated last-eight encounter.

Their last meeting at WAFCON came during the third-place match of the 2022 edition, where Zambia edged Nigeria 1-0—a result that Nachula says continues to fuel their belief.

Speaking to Brila FM, the experienced 39-year-old, who plays her club football in Israel, expressed the team’s mindset going into the fixture.

“We are not scared of any team, we can’t be afraid of Nigeria, all we need to do is play to our coach’s instructions,” Nachula said.

“We are ready for Nigeria, in 2022 we beat Nigeria which is giving us confidence.”

“We are Copper Queens and we believe we can beat any team,” she added.

The Super Falcons go into the match as Group B leaders, having secured two wins and a draw without conceding a single goal while netting four times.

Zambia, meanwhile, finished second in their group with seven points, scoring six goals and conceding four.

Their attacking threat has been spearheaded by star forwards Barbara Banda and Racheal Kundananji, who have each scored three goals in the competition.
