United States President, Donald Trump, has predicted that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will leave office, blaming what he described as shortcomings in the UK government’s handling of immigration and energy issues.
Trump made the claim in a post on his Truth Social platform on Sunday, as Starmer continues to face political scrutiny in Britain.
“Keir Starmer will resign as Prime Minister of The United Kingdom,” Trump wrote. “He failed badly on two very important subjects- IMMIGRATION AND ENERGY (OPEN NORTH SEA OIL!). I wish him well!”
The U.S. president, however, did not provide any evidence to support his assertion or explain how he arrived at the conclusion.
Starmer, the leader of the Labour Party, assumed office after guiding his party to victory in the UK general election.
Since taking power, his administration has come under criticism from opponents over several policies, particularly those relating to migration and energy.
