Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua fight is unpredictable bout – Ngannou

Former UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou, has said it is extremely difficult to forecast the outcome of a potential blockbuster clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

Ngannou, who famously went the full distance with Fury in 2023 before later being stopped by Joshua in 2024, believes a fight between the British heavyweights would be too close to call given their contrasting styles and elite abilities.

Speaking to FightHype, the Cameroonian fighter stressed that both men carry serious knockout power and bring unique challenges into the ring.

“I think it’s a great fight. How it’s going to go? It’s the fight game, nobody knows what will happen.

“They are both elite fighters, but we all know how tricky Fury can be. He’s managed to be very hard to beat,” Ngannou said.

Talks over a long-anticipated heavyweight showdown between Fury and Joshua are reportedly progressing, with November 2026 being targeted as a possible date for the fight, as negotiations reach an advanced stage.

Before any official announcement, both fighters are expected to take part in tune-up bouts aimed at sharpening their form and easing any lingering fitness concerns.

Fury recently recorded a victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov, while Joshua is currently recovering from a car accident in Nigeria and is eyeing a return to action in July.

If finalised, the bout would rank among the biggest in modern heavyweight boxing history, pitting two of Britain’s most dominant fighters against each other on a global stage.
