The Nigerian Army has recorded significant operational successes across multiple theatres, including the interception of suspected terrorist logistics, disruption of planned attacks, and the rescue of kidnapped victims.
According to an operational update released on Monday and obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), troops under Operation Hadin Kai intercepted a truck loaded with medical supplies believed to be destined for insurgents in the North-East.
The interception took place at a checkpoint in Nguru, Yobe State, where the driver reportedly presented documents claiming the cargo contained beverages and household goods.
However, a thorough inspection uncovered large quantities of medical items such as antibiotics, injections, and bandages.
Military authorities said four suspects were arrested in connection with the incident.
“A preliminary investigation revealed that the consignment was intended for delivery to terrorist elements through Geidam en route to the Republic of Chad,” the report stated.
In a related operation, troops apprehended a suspected member of ISWAP/JAS in Ngamdu, Borno State.
The suspect reportedly confessed to being tasked with sourcing food supplies for insurgents and disclosed that fighters were gathering around Gubio and Magumeri areas.
“Troops also arrested two collaborators in Monguno who were aiding the movement of family members linked to a terrorist commander,” the statement added.
“Recovered items include mobile phones, cash, and personal belongings, while a woman and her three children connected to a terrorist kingpin were taken into custody.”
Further operations in Borno State saw troops foil an attempted infiltration by insurgents in Askira Uba Local Government Area.
Security forces engaged the attackers in an ambush, forcing them to retreat and abandon weapons
“Follow-up clearance operations led to the rescue of three kidnapped victims from a terrorist hideout,” the report noted.
In Bama Local Government Area, troops destroyed a terrorist camp during a clearance mission, compelling insurgents to withdraw.
Beyond the North-East, troops of Operation Safe Haven in Plateau State recovered weapons during stop-and-search operations and arrested a suspected gunrunner.
In Bauchi State, additional abductees were rescued following intelligence gathered from earlier air operations.
Meanwhile, in the Federal Capital Territory, troops conducting anti-illegal mining operations raided a site in Gwagwalada, recovering mining equipment as suspects fled the scene.
In the South-South region, troops under Operation Delta Safe intervened in a communal clash in Delta State, restoring calm after one fatality was recorded.
They also intensified operations against illegal oil activities in Rivers State, dismantling illicit refining sites and recovering stolen crude and petroleum products.
The military reaffirmed its resolve to sustain pressure on criminal networks and insurgent groups nationwide.
“We remain committed to dismantling terrorist logistics, protecting lives, and ensuring security across all regions,” the statement said.
