Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have foiled multiple terrorist attacks, arrested suspects, and intercepted large consignments of logistics linked to insurgents during coordinated operations across the North East.
The Joint Task Force spokesperson, Sani Uba, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, noting that the operations, conducted between March 28 and 30, 2026, targeted terrorist enclaves and supply routes across Borno State and surrounding areas.
According to the statement, troops deployed in Damboa successfully disrupted a planned ആക്രമ by Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters after detecting their movement through surveillance.
“In a major operational breakthrough, troops deployed at Damboa thwarted a planned Boko Haram/ISWAP attack after detecting terrorists’ movement through surveillance systems.
The troops engaged the insurgents, forcing them to withdraw in disarray,” the statement said.
The military added that troops also repelled attempted attacks on farmers and residents in Gwoza and Askira Uba Local Government Areas, forcing the insurgents to retreat towards the Mandara Mountains.
It further revealed that an improvised explosive device planted along the Goniri–Ngamdu axis was uncovered and safely detonated.
“Recovered materials, including rail tracks used to canalise vehicles into a killing zone, highlight ongoing terrorist efforts to disrupt movement along critical routes,” the statement noted.
On logistics operations, troops intercepted vehicles transporting large quantities of supplies suspected to be meant for insurgents.
“The consignments, equivalent to two truckloads, were concealed in sacks and included cartons of medical drugs, motorcycle tubes and tyres, mosquito nets, rolls of mats, air filter cylinders, and detergents,” it stated, adding that the items were being moved towards a border community near Chad without proper clearance.
The suspects and vehicles have since been handed over for further investigation.
The task force also disclosed that troops, working with the Civilian Joint Task Force, arrested several suspected logistics suppliers and collaborators.
Among them was a 26-year-old suspect, Mohammed Adamu, who was allegedly involved in supplying motorcycle parts and other items to insurgents over time.
In separate operations, 13 other suspects were arrested in Gubio, while two additional suspects reportedly confessed to long-term involvement in supplying logistics to terrorist groups.
Troops also apprehended a suspected member of the JAS/ISWAP group, identified as Abubakar Ali, also known as “Saina,” at a checkpoint while allegedly on a reconnaissance mission.
In addition, a suspected kidnapper was arrested in Damboa Local Government Area, while clearance operations led to the recovery of 450 wraps of suspected marijuana.
The military high command commended the troops for their efforts, stating that “their resilience, vigilance, and professional conduct remain critical in denying terrorists freedom of action across the theatre of operations,” while urging them to sustain the momentum.
