Troops dislodge suspected terrorists from Bauchi’s village, recover arms

Troops from the 3 Division of the Nigerian Army have successfully cleared armed terrorists from Mansur Village and neighboring settlements in Alkaleri Local Government Area, Bauchi State, recovering an AK-47 rifle in a significant victory under Operation BUGUN KARKANDA III.

The offensive, aimed at protecting residents and restoring normalcy, focused on areas where terrorists had attempted to assert control, delivering a major disruption to their criminal networks and operations.

In a statement on Thursday, Lieutenant Colonel Olumide Victor Olukoya, Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, 3 Division, said the troops conducted a deliberate and coordinated advance into the targeted positions.

“Following a well-coordinated offensive, troops rapidly established dominance over key areas and successfully dislodged armed terrorists from Mansur Village. A thorough clearance led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle, further weakening the terrorists’ operational capacity,” the statement read.

The operations have also enabled the safe return of displaced residents, allowing communities to resume socio-economic activities.

Major General Folusho Oyinlola, General Officer Commanding 3 Division and Commander of Operation Enduring Peace, praised the troops’ efforts and urged them to maintain momentum, stressing the army’s dedication to protecting vulnerable communities and ensuring lasting peace in Bauchi State.
