The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari, has described President Bola Tinubu as a leader working to transform Nigeria into an independent economic power capable of competing with Western nations.
Yari stated this in a video shared on social media by Tinubu’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Olusegun Dada, on Monday.
Speaking in the video, the former Zamfara State governor said Tinubu meant well for the country and was pursuing a vision that would strengthen Nigeria’s economic independence and global competitiveness.
“President Tinubu means well for Nigeria. This is a man who is trying to put Nigeria on the path towards becoming an independent economic power, capable of competing with Western nations globally,” Yari said.
He also urged Nigerians to support Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, saying they should renew their confidence in the President.
“Nigerians should come en masse and give their trust once again to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027,” he said.
His remarks come as the APC intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections, with the party’s Presidential Campaign Council expected to make the administration’s policies, reforms and development projects central to its campaign for Tinubu’s re-election.
Yari was appointed Director-General of the campaign council in August 2026, with Tinubu serving as its chairman and Vice-President Kashim Shettima as vice-chairman.
The video was shared with the hashtag #RenewedHopeInCrossRiver, alongside a message emphasising that the APC would not visit the state merely to make promises but to present evidence of progress.
It also highlighted interventions in road infrastructure, port modernisation and education as areas of development under the Tinubu administration.
The development comes amid renewed political mobilisation by the APC in Cross River State, where Governor Bassey Otu inaugurated the party’s campaign council for the 2027 elections on Saturday, urging members to take his administration’s achievements to voters.
