Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, continued his impressive start to the season as Galatasaray defeated Göztepe 3-2 in a thrilling Turkish league encounter on Saturday.
Göztepe took a shock lead in the 16th minute when Miroshi found the net, but Galatasaray quickly responded through Davinson Sánchez, who levelled the score.
Osimhen then played a key role in the hosts’ comeback, setting up Gabriel Sara to put Galatasaray ahead.
The Nigerian forward later got on the scoresheet himself, confidently converting a penalty in the 63rd minute to extend Galatasaray’s lead to 3-1.
The visitors pulled one goal back as they attempted to fight their way into the game, but Galatasaray held firm to secure all three points.
The victory takes Galatasaray to the top of the Turkish league table after three matches as they continue their title defence.
Osimhen’s goal also takes his tally for the season to five.
