Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Super Falcons following their triumphant victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The Nigerian women’s national team, led by Justine Madugu, secured a hard-fought 3-2 win over host nation Morocco in a thrilling final played at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat on Sunday.
The victory marked Nigeria’s 10th WAFCON title, further cementing their dominance on the continent.
Chelle, visibly impressed by the team’s performance, commended Madugu and his players for their determination and resilience throughout the tournament.
“I want to congratulate the coach, it was a great tournament, I’m so proud of you and your technical staff. You deserve this trophy. I’m so happy for you and your family,” Chelle told the Super Eagles media.
He also lauded the Super Falcons for overcoming the odds to defeat Morocco on their home turf.
“I want to congratulate the best team in Africa, the Super Falcons. You deserve this trophy. It was not easy because you faced Morocco in Morocco and you did it.
“I think the future of the Super Falcons will be great.”
