The Super Eagles’ squad refused to take part in training on Tuesday due to unpaid bonuses.
The withheld payments reportedly cover both the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaigns.
In an official statement, the players emphasized the need for a swift resolution before resuming their preparations for the upcoming World Cup playoffs.
“The full squad including officials boycotted training today in Morocco because of the unresolved issues with outstanding payments,” the statement read.
“The Super Eagles are awaiting a quick resolution to continue the preparation for Thursday’s game with Gabon.”
Nigeria is set to face the Gabonese Panthers in the semi-final of the playoffs in Rabat on Thursday.
Preparations for the decisive clash began on Monday at the team’s Rive Hotel camp, where 23 players are currently in attendance.
