Super Eagles lodged at Morocco Rive hotel, not trending old building — NFF

The Nigerian Football Federation has addressed concerns over the Super Eagles’ accommodation in Morocco, following a viral video that suggested poor lodging conditions for the team.

The clip, shared by midfielder Alex Iwobi, ignited widespread criticism online, with fans expressing frustration over the players’ welfare ahead of Thursday’s crucial playoff match against Gabon.

In response, the NFF clarified that the footage did not reflect the team’s actual hotel.

Football journalist, Adepoju Tobi Samuel cited the Super Eagles’ media officer, who explained, “The Super Eagles are camped at Rive Hotel. What trended earlier was the view of an old building that can be seen from a window. Rive was chosen because of its proximity to the team’s training facility and the stadium here in Rabat.”

The statement aims to address fan concerns about the football body’s commitment to the squad’s comfort, particularly ahead of high-stakes World Cup qualifiers.

The Super Eagles are currently in Rabat, preparing for the playoff semi-final against Gabon.

The victor will progress to face either DR Congo or Cameroon in the final round, with a chance to secure a spot in the intercontinental playoffs set for March 2026.
