Super Eagles arrive Morocco for AFCON

Éric Chelle and his squad concluded a five-day training camp in Cairo, Egypt, before arriving in Fez, Morocco, to continue their preparations ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The team used the brief stint in Egypt to fine-tune their tactics and match fitness, including a pre-tournament friendly against host nation Egypt, where they narrowly lost 2-1 at the Cairo International Stadium on Tuesday.

Despite the defeat, the Super Eagles are set to intensify their preparations starting Friday, focusing on sharpening teamwork and strategic cohesion ahead of the continental showpiece.

Nigeria, three-time AFCON champions, have been drawn in Group C alongside Tanzania’s Taifa Stars, Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles, and Uganda’s Cranes.

They will kick off their campaign next Tuesday against Tanzania, aiming to start the tournament on a strong note.

All of Nigeria’s group-stage matches will be held at Morocco’s Complexe Sportif de Fez, providing a centralized venue to help the West Africans maintain consistency and focus throughout the group phase.

With a mix of experienced veterans and emerging talents, the Super Eagles are determined to make a statement and contend for a fourth AFCON title.
