The Sokoto State Government has extended the deadline for its ongoing recruitment exercise, giving more indigenes an opportunity to apply for available positions.
In a statement released by the Secretary of the State Recruitment Committee, Gandi Umar Muhammad, the application deadline has been shifted from October 6 to October 12, 2025.
Muhammad explained that the decision was made to accommodate more qualified applicants who were unable to complete their registration before the initial deadline.
“This extension is to enable more qualified Sokoto State indigenes to apply. We want to ensure that no eligible candidate is left out of this recruitment process,” he said.
He emphasized that all applications must be submitted through the official recruitment portal https://employment.sokotostate.gov.ng, warning that the committee will not recognize entries made outside the approved platform.
“Applicants are advised to use only the official portal. The committee will not entertain complaints from those who fail to register properly,” he added.
The recruitment exercise, which began on September 22, aims to provide employment opportunities for qualified graduates and residents of Sokoto State.
Applicants are required to register using valid email addresses and phone numbers, fill in their biodata, and upload supporting documents including educational certificates, proof of indigene, birth certificate, and National Identification Number.
The committee also cautioned residents against paying any individual or group to secure employment, stressing that the process is free, transparent, and strictly merit-based.
“We advise all applicants to avoid fraudulent individuals who may demand payment. The recruitment process is free of charge,” Muhammad reiterated.
