Sheffield United thrash Bristol City, enter Championship playoffs final

Sheffield United have booked their place in the Championship playoff final in dominant fashion, securing a second consecutive 3-0 victory over Bristol City on Monday.

The Blades had already put themselves in a commanding position after a 3-0 triumph in the first leg last week, and they matched that result at Bramall Lane to seal a resounding 6-0 aggregate win.

Kieffer Moore, Gustavo Hamer, and Callum O’Hare were all on the scoresheet for United, capping off another impressive performance.

United will now await the outcome of the other semi-final clash to discover their Wembley opponents for the final scheduled on May 24.

Sunderland currently hold a narrow 2-1 advantage over Coventry City heading into Tuesday’s decisive second leg at the Stadium of Light.

Sheffield United had endured a dismal campaign in the Premier League last season, managing just three wins in 38 matches before dropping to the Championship.

This term, they bounced back strongly, finishing third in the 2024/25 table, just behind Leeds United and Burnley, who clinched automatic promotion.
