Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation has officially married Queen Zaynab Ngohemba, the former wife of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.
The union, described by the Dajoh family as “beautiful” and “uncommon,” was formally celebrated in Mbakor, Benue State, where Queen Zaynab was welcomed into the SGF’s family home.
The announcement was made public on Friday by Abraham Double-d Dajoh, a member of the family, via a social media post.
“We, the entire Dajoh Family, happily join our father, uncle, and brother, His Excellency, Senator George Akume Jugu Dajoh, in welcoming his new wife, Queen Zaynab Ngohemba-George Akume Dajoh, into our fold,” the family statement read.
It added, “We also appreciate the fans and supporters of Senator Akume and encourage them to continue their support as he embarks on this new personal journey.”
Queen Zaynab, previously known as Olori Wuraola during her 17-month marriage to the Ooni, was ushered into her new home with traditional fanfare and cultural reverence.
The Dajoh family emphasized the importance of their ancestral roots in Mbakor and the wider Benue State, describing the occasion as a significant milestone for the household.
Commenting on the timing of the announcement, Akume’s spokesman, Yomi Odunuga, clarified that the marriage has been in place for over a year, despite recent reports suggesting it took place on Christmas Eve. “I can confirm the marriage.
However, contrary to reports of a December 24 wedding in Gboko, the union actually took place over a year ago,” Odunuga said.
Akume, a former governor of Benue State and a prominent figure in the current administration, and Queen Zaynab, a respected humanitarian and former royal, are now officially united, drawing attention from both social and political circles nationwide.
