Seyi Tinubu has reacted to the defeat of celebrity businessman and socialite Cubana Chief Priest in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency seat in Imo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Cubana Chief Priest, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, contested for the APC ticket to represent the constituency in the House of Representatives but lost to the incumbent lawmaker, Canice Nwachukwu.
According to reports, Nwachukwu secured victory in the primary election, while Cubana Chief Priest polled 14 votes.
Reacting to the outcome, Seyi Tinubu offered words of encouragement to the nightlife entrepreneur through a message shared on Instagram and later reposted by Cubana Chief Priest.
“Bro, sometimes by losing a battle, you find a new way to win the war. Keep your head up @cubana_chiefpriest. We know what you are capable of achieving,” Seyi wrote.
Speaking after the election, Cubana Chief Priest expressed disappointment with the outcome but said he had no regrets participating in the contest.
“I’m a hustler, and I don’t regret trying to contest for a position. My only regret was trusting the elders in the community,” he said.
Reflecting on the voting process, he added, “I know how much I gave them, but only 14 people voted for me in the primary.”
