Juventus stretched their unbeaten streak against Cagliari to 10 games after securing a 2-1 win in Saturday’s early Serie A fixture.
The hosts began brightly at the Allianz Stadium, with Francisco Conceição seeing an early shot blocked, but it was Cagliari who struck first against the run of play.
Around the half-hour mark, Marco Palestra pressed high to win back possession, drove into the box, and teed up Sebastiano Esposito, who swept a precise first-time finish into the bottom-right corner to silence the Turin crowd.
However, their joy was short-lived. Just a minute later, a loose ball fell kindly for Kenan Yıldız, and the young forward calmly drilled his effort into the same bottom-right corner to restore parity.
From that moment, Luciano Spalletti’s men seized full control. Their dominance paid off in stoppage time at the end of the first half when Pierre Kalulu picked out Yıldız, who cut inside before firing a left-footed strike into, once again, the bottom-right corner to complete his brace.
Despite Juventus having drawn five of their previous six home matches, there was little drama after the break.
The Bianconeri managed the game comfortably, although Conceição missed a late chance to extend the lead, blasting over from inside the area.
In the end, Juventus saw out the victory with minimal trouble. The result keeps Spalletti’s unbeaten start intact and continues the club’s steady climb after a sluggish beginning to the campaign.
Cagliari, meanwhile, remain in deep trouble, winless in nine league outings and hovering just a point above the relegation zone.
