Late strikes from Pierre Kalulu and Kenan Yildiz sealed a 2-0 Serie A victory for Juventus away to newly promoted Pisa on Saturday, extending the Bianconeri’s winning run to three matches.
Despite the scoreline, Luciano Spalletti’s men were pushed hard, with Pisa twice rattling the woodwork and threatening to spoil the visitors’ momentum.
Building on confidence-boosting wins against Bologna and Roma, Juventus climbed to third place on the table, a rise of four positions since Spalletti replaced the dismissed Igor Tudor two months ago.
The breakthrough came after the hour mark following the introduction of Edon Zeghrova, whose direct running down the left sparked a swift counterattack that Kalulu converted from close range. Yildiz then wrapped up the points deep into stoppage time with another close-range finish.
Pisa also enjoyed a notable moment late on as 17-year-old winger Louis Thomas Buffon, son of former Juventus and Italy legend Gianluigi Buffon, was introduced in the 85th minute for his fourth top-flight appearance.
Elsewhere, Como claimed a convincing 3-0 away win over Lecce to move into sixth place, with Nico Paz scoring his sixth goal of the campaign, while Jacobo Ramon and Anastasios Douvikas also found the net.
Fiorentina’s struggles continued with a 1-0 defeat at Parma, leaving the Viola rooted to the bottom of the table. Oliver Sorensen struck just after halftime to earn Parma the points and push them five clear of the relegation zone.
In other Serie A results, Udinese and Lazio shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw, while Cagliari fought back from behind to secure a 2-1 victory away at Torino.
