Serie A: Bologna beat Torino 2-1 to end winless run

Bologna snapped their four-match losing streak in Serie A with a hard-fought 2-1 victory at Torino, lifting the Rossoblu back into the top half of the table.

The first half started cautiously, with both sides struggling to find rhythm. Bologna created the first real opportunity after 20 minutes when Santiago Castro’s close-range header was comfortably saved by Alberto Paleari.

Federico Bernardeschi then embarked on a 30-yard drive that threatened Torino’s defense, but his final shot lacked the precision to test the goalkeeper.

As the half drew to a close, Bologna’s attacking intensity increased. Bernardeschi fired a sharper effort from 15 yards that Paleari did well to parry, and Jonathan Rowe squandered a close-range chance by dragging his shot wide.

Torino, meanwhile, failed to register a single shot on target before halftime, though their defense kept the hosts in contention.

The deadlock was broken shortly after the restart. A deflected ball fell perfectly for Nikola Moro, who calmly slotted home from six yards to give Vincenzo Italiano’s side the lead.

Bologna continued to press, with Simon Sohm’s close-range effort superbly tipped away by Paleari just before the hour mark.

Torino responded in the 62nd minute, with Nikola Vlasic pouncing on a rebound from Duvan Zapata’s saved shot to equalize for the hosts.

However, Bologna’s determination shone through, and Castro’s precise strike in the 70th minute restored the lead, sending the ball into the bottom corner beyond the reach of Paleari.

Despite Torino’s late efforts, Bologna held firm to secure three crucial points. The win moves Bologna up three places to eighth, keeping their European ambitions alive, while Torino remain 14th, six points above the relegation zone. Il Toro will look to bounce back against Genoa next weekend.
